Parts List
The parts were sourced from a number of places since this wasn't a kit. The Lego was just in my kids collection.Raspberry Pi
Model B, Model B+ or Pi 2. 2 USB ports required.
The Arm
The arm is a kit available from Maplin. It took about 1 hour to assemble with low difficulty.
The Chassis
There a very few tank chassis models you can easily use so I opted for parts from Tamiya (after a lot of searching around). I eventually found an excellent company called Proto-Pic http://proto-pic.co.uk/ which stocked everything I needed. The parts are:

Motor Controller
To control the DC motors from the Pi you need a motor controller board. This one from Ryanteck.uk is both cheap and excellent. Its a little fiddly to solder so if your soldering skills aren't up to it then buy the pre soldered kit.
